SunTrust Bank and GFI continue to enjoy a long relationship rooted in design projects for regional corporate offices and retail bank branches. Building on those experiences, GFI was commissioned to design two floors totaling 60,000 square feet for the new Sun Trust Corporate Headquarters in downtown Norfolk, Virginia’s new and prestigious commercial high-rise. The design also includes a 4,000 square foot Premier Banking branch on the ground floor.

The office space features 12,500 square feet of state-of-the-art meeting rooms and open office/community gathering spaces. Due to the close proximity of the building to the bay waterfront, the space was designed to highlight scenic views. Using a mixture of dark and medium woods and fabric wall covering, the design expresses SunTrust’s traditional origins but adds a contemporary outlook that emphasizes the fast-paced environment of the banking industry.
